Why the Planet Is Riddled with Problems in Our Time?

Why the Planet Is Riddled with Problems in Our Time?

“Only the great heroes behaved lechery.”After declared publicly for his belief in Christ, Raymond Wong Yuk-man, a famous journalism professor of Hong Kong, said the motto he had believed for years to a reporter as talking about his habits of gambling, smoking and womanizing. Wong had a poor teenage but has a proud marriage with a Taiwan woman near 30 years after he had been helped by a Triad Dragon-head 30 years ago, then they have 3 sons.

Wong talked the reporter that he had already 100% quit smoking for health reason, 50% quit gambling for finance reason, and now, were considering abstinence from womanizing due to his age. Surely the ugly and short old man had a proud history on his long trek of womanizing. His confession to the reporter did not have the purpose on repentance, but only for commanding public supports from Hong Kong society, especially the honorable stratum developed from the plight of the hardship time of Hong Kong that Wong belongs to.

Now, Wong have already been elected into the honorable Legislative Council of Hong Kong, but what I really reflect on is that why Karl Marx so hate so-called lumpenproletariat. Marx had described the lumpenproletariat in his article The Class Struggles in France, 1848 to 1850:

“They belonged for the most part to the lumpenproletariat, which in all big towns forms a mass sharply differentiated from the industrial proletariat, a recruiting ground for thieves and criminals of all kinds living on the crumbs of society, people without a definite trade, vagabonds, gens sans feu et sans aveu [men without hearth or home], varying according to the degree of civilization of the nation to which they belong, but never renouncing their lazzaroni character – at the youthful age at which the Provisional Government recruited them, thoroughly malleable, as capable of the most heroic deeds and the most exalted sacrifices as of the basest banditry and the foulest corruption. ”

And Marx also had write in The Communist Manifesto: “Thedangerous class',[lumpenproletariat] the social scum, that passively rotting mass thrown off by the lowest layers of the old society, may, here and there, be swept into the movement by a proletarian revolution; its conditions of life, however, prepare it far more for the part of a bribed tool of reactionary intrigue.”

The absurd epoch, the perverse class and the warped minds, which is the cause and which is the result?

Recent years, some similar strange viewpoints that have heavy mental impacts on Chinese, have been sostenuto expressing publicly. A typical example is Li Yin-ing, a famous economist of China who extremely hate the Cultural Revolution and public ownership of Socialism, there are some of his shocking quotations spread extensively:

——China's wealth gap between classes is not huge enough now, the only way to progress of our society is widening the gap.
——Why the poor so destitute? Because they have a psychology of hate the rich.
——The 8 million farmers and workers of unemployment is the great wealth of our country, without their impoverishment, how could the minority have the miscellaneous pleasures.
——In our reform process, being embezzled of the state assets is inevitable, it’s no big deal.
——In the developing stage of our country, the heavy industries is very important and necessary, so the pollution of the environment is bound to be inevitable. But we get the benefits.
——Never be a welfare society, otherwise, our people will not work hard because of losing a sense of crisis.
——I propose to abolish the welfares including so-called old-age insurance, unemployment insurance, industrial injury insurance and so on, for the purpose to keep everyone's work ethic and ability.
——Workers of unemployment, go to the rural areas!

Li is a controversial authority on Chinese economy, that usually criticized by various stratia of China. On China’s economy development and state-owned enterprise reform, the economist is known as Li Shares due to his arguments on advocated shareholding reform. In order to advance the state-owned enterprises all be reformed by demutualization, and then privatization, Li made all efforts to persuade the government and the public of the country by his academic achievements.

But many scholars have doubted on his related academic ability, comprehensive of knowledge, and ethical integrity, even have censured his misguiding on economy reform resulted in most state-owned assets were transformed into private property through unconstitutional and illegal methods.

Because the joint-stock system is a model of public ownership in essence, but Li did not illustrate the relationship between public ownership, the shareholding and private ownership, that lead to unconstitutional implementation of private ownership. The old shareholders (the people) failed to exercise shareholder rights, but the misappropriation behaviors of the adminisphere that unauthorized transferring of the assets of the old shareholders to be their own properties, is an extremely serious crime.

Marx had described some similar phenomena of his epoch:
“Since the finance aristocracy made the laws, was at the head of the administration of the state, had command of all the organized public authorities, dominated public opinion through the actual state of affairs and through the press, the same prostitution, the same shameless cheating, the same mania to get rich was repeated in every sphere, from the court to the Café Borgne, to get rich not by production, but by pocketing the already available wealth of others. Clashing every moment with the bourgeois laws themselves, an unbridled assertion of unhealthy and dissolute appetites manifested itself, particularly at the top of bourgeois society – lusts wherein wealth derived from gambling naturally seeks its satisfaction, where pleasure becomes crapuleux, where money, filth, and blood commingle. The finance aristocracy, in its mode of acquisition as well as in its pleasures, is nothing but the rebirth of the lumpenproletariat on the heights of bourgeois society. ”

In The Eighteenth Brumaire of Louis Napoleon (1852), Marx refers to the lumpenproletariat as the "refuse of all classes", it’s an important viewpoint for us to reflect the lumpenproletariat: Have they any common characteristics? Why?

Karl Kautsky had described their psychological state in detail:
“For them there was nothing but to beg, steal, or prostitute themselves. They were compelled either to perish or to throw overboard all sense of shame, honor and self-respect. They prolong their existence only by giving precedence to their immediate wants over their regard for their reputations. That such a condition cannot but exercise the most demoralizing and corrupting influence is self-evident. ”

The crucial abjection had seriously corrupted their mental structure. The deeply harms of their hearts would change them thoroughly even they have thoroughly ameliorated their livelihood conditions, improved their social statuses and differentiated into multifarious classes afterward. The previous experiences they had undergone including all the failures and disappointments would deeply change their outlooks on life, views of the world, values, epistemologies and methodogies.

Similarity in the past would shape similarity of regular psychological tendencies of minds. In our society, if there are some mental mechanisms such as the performances of “Abuse-ism” had been found in all classes, it is nothing surprising. But what we really worry about is that the performances of such mental mechanisms would usually be the only ability of the trunk stream of our society after they have led the academic forums, guided the political ideologies, seized the public powers, or even dominated the country.

Does this be the common cause of chaos of different historical phases of the whole world? Surely it should be the deepest cause why the planet is riddled with problems in our time.
